Spine, Sports & Neuropathy Fellowship
LAGS MEDICAL CENTERS TRAINING
Fellowship Program Overview
Lags Medical Centers’ Fellowship Program provides an exceptional training opportunity for professionals looking to focus their efforts on interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine.
Lags Medical Centers is the founder of an innovative and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment program for patients suffering from chronic pain. Our distinguished physicians provide the core leadership – both diagnostically and therapeutically. The fellow will learn how to diagnose metabolic, anatomical and psychological causes for pain. The multi-disciplinary faculty includes physiatry, anesthesiology, neurology, neurosurgery, podiatry, psychiatry, psychology, radiology and pathology – providing an ideal working relationship with the fellows.
When the fellows complete the Lags Fellowship, they will have performed 1,500 spinal injections, including spinal cord stimulation trials and implants. They will have learned ultrasound-guided injections. They will be able run a peripheral neuropathy lab, including EMGs and NCVs, conduct autonomic testing, and be able to interpret pathology slides for nerve counting in small fiber neuropathy. They will be able to give joint and spine injections involving PRP, exosomes, aminos and stem cells. They will understand and interpret psychological testing in order to identify high-risk patients, and they will have exposure to the interpretation of both qualitative and quantitative urine testing for their patients. Research will be required. This is a true multi-disciplinary program for spine and sports medicine – and much more.
