The Lags pain doctors in Reno, Nevada focus on the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain, joint pain and back pain using our cutting-edge MAP – From Pain to Wellness Program. This approach to treating pain focuses on the underlying causes rather than simply covering up the symptoms with medications.
Key Treatments Offered:
EMG/NCV – an electromyography (EMG/NCV) is a test that is used to record the electrical activity of muscles. An EMG is often performed along with a nerve conduction study (NCS).
Ultrasound Guided Injections – an ultrasound guided injection combines the advantages of ultrasound procedures and medication injections. Ultrasound guidance ensures the most accurate and precise delivery.
ENFD Skin Biopsy – Epidermal Nerve Fiber Density tests are used to screen for small fiber peripheral neuropathy. It is performed using a circular blade that removes a small, 3mm (epidermis) skin sample. The sample is sent to our lab to analyze under a microscope where the nerves are physically counted.
SI Injections – a sacroiliac injection (SI) delivers long-acting steroids and numbing medication into the large sacroiliac joint of the lower back where the spine and pelvis connect. This procedure is used to reduce inflammation and pain often found in the lower back, buttocks, groin and legs.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) – injections represent a newer form of regenerative therapy, where substances taken from a person’s own body are used to treat tissues that are damaged or injured. Referred to as an autologous blood therapy, this treatment uses a person’s own blood components to stimulate and enhance the body’s natural healing process.
Medication Management – we can take over comprehensive medication and opioid management. Our proven and effective ‘tapering-down’ approach is used in combination with interventional approaches and sometimes psychological support to help patients achieve the best possible quality of life.
